Key Performance Indicator: Freshman Failure Rate
There will be a 25% reduction in the Freshman Failure Rate, from the 2017 baseline of 11.27%
Target rate: 8.45%

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is incorporating "Success in Grade 9" as a measure in the new school and district accountability calculations. The 25% reduction may be adjusted to align with state accountability requirements when the state accountability structure is finalized.
